About Qián 乾

Key Point

☰ (Qián / 乾) consists of three unbroken lines. An broken line is called "yang" whose meaning is bright and positive. Therefore, qián is the purest symbol of yang in Bagua, the eight trigrams. It can be regarded as the heaven when applied to nature, and a king when applied to the human realm.
